What do the two numbers mean?
Every profile is two numbers from one to six. Each number is a "line" with its own character, and the six are: 1 Investigator, 2 Hermit, 3 Martyr, 4 Opportunist, 5 Heretic, 6 Role Model.
The first number is your conscious line, the part you recognize and can describe about yourself. The second runs unconsciously, often more obvious to the people around you than to you. A 1/4 carries the 1 and the 4.

What does the 1st line, the Investigator, mean?
The 1st line needs a foundation. Before it acts, it wants to understand what's underneath: the research, the principles, how the thing actually works.
That need runs on insecurity, and insecurity is the right word. A 1st line walking into something it hasn't studied feels like it's standing on air. Reassurance from other people rarely fixes this. Learning fixes it. Read the manual, take the course, ask the expert, dig until you hit bedrock, and the anxiety goes quiet on its own.
Because the 1 is conscious in a 1/4, you usually know this about yourself. You can feel the difference between the subjects you've grounded and the ones you're faking. Pay attention to that feeling. It tells you where your next round of study belongs.
What does the 4th line, the Opportunist, mean?
The 4th line lives through its network. Its opportunities come from people it already knows: friends, coworkers, the neighbor, the friend of a friend. Cold outreach to strangers tends to fall flat for a 4th line, and a warm introduction from someone who likes you does the work in minutes.
In a 1/4 that line is unconscious. You may not think of yourself as a networker at all, and yet when you look back at how you found your job, your home, your partner, and your best clients, there's a person in the middle of almost every one of them. You've been building and tending a web of relationships the whole time without calling it that.
The 4th line also carries a fixed quality. It likes a stable base, and it tends to hold onto its friendships and its sense of what's true. Change comes easiest when the next foundation is already in place, the next job lined up before the old one ends, and much harder as a leap into nothing.
How does a 1/4 actually work?
The two lines feed each other. The 1st line goes deep and builds genuine expertise. The 4th line shares what it learned with the people it's close to. Those people, trusting you because they know you, bring you the next opportunity. Then you study that one down to the bottom too.
A 1/4 is often the friend everyone calls with a question, because you've clearly done the reading. That trust is the channel your life moves through. A lot of your influence happens person to person, one conversation at a time, inside relationships that go back years.
The failure mode shows up when either side gets skipped. Shallow research leaves you anxious and unconvincing, and your network can feel it. Deep research kept entirely to yourself leaves the 4th line with nothing to pass along, and the opportunities stall. Both halves need exercise.
What's the hardest part of being a 1/4?
Mostly the insecurity, because it can masquerade as a reason to never start. There's always one more book. A 1/4 who waits until they know everything will wait forever, so the practical move is to study the specific ground under the specific next step and then go.
The 4th line's attachment to a stable base adds its own friction. Leaving a job, a town, or a friendship that has run its course can feel like losing the floor, and a 1/4 will sometimes stay in something long past its time because nothing else has solidified yet.
